This policy explains what personal information Tool Point Solutions collects when you use this website or buy from us, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We keep it in plain English, and we collect as little as we can.
Who we are
Tool Point Solutions is an independent mobile tool sales business covering Barnsley, Rotherham, Sheffield, Wakefield and private events across Yorkshire, and the operator of this website, toolpointsolutions.com. We are the “data controller” for the personal information described here.
If you have any question about this policy or your information, contact us:
- Email: toolpointsolutions@gmail.com

What we collect and why
Orders and accounts. When you place an order or create an account we collect your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number and details of what you ordered. We use this to process and deliver your order, take payment, provide receipts and invoices, and deal with any returns or warranty issues. The legal basis is that it is necessary to fulfil our contract with you.
Payments. Card and online payments are handled by our payment provider, not by us. We never see or store your full card number. We keep only the payment reference and confirmation needed to match the payment to your order.
Enquiries. If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp — for example to ask about a product, a van visit or an event — we keep the correspondence for as long as we need it to answer you and handle any follow-up. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to the people who contact us.
Product reviews. If you leave a review we collect the name and email address you provide along with the review itself. Reviews are published with the name you give.
Technical information. Like almost every website, our server records IP addresses and basic browser details in its logs. We use these solely to keep the site secure and to block malicious traffic, which is a legitimate interest. Logs are kept for a short period and then deleted automatically.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we never sell it to anyone.
Cookies
This site uses only the essential cookies that WordPress and WooCommerce need to work — for example to remember what is in your basket, keep you signed in to your account, and get you through checkout. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
Who we share information with
We share your information only where it is needed to serve you:
- Delivery companies — your name, address and phone number, so they can deliver your order.
- Our payment provider — to take payment securely. They act under their own privacy policy.
- Our email provider — correspondence with us is processed by the provider that hosts our email.
- A credit provider — only if you ask us about paying by finance, in which case your application is made to and handled by the credit provider under its own privacy policy.
- HMRC, our accountant, or other authorities — where the law requires it.
The website and its backups are held on our own server. Some of the providers above may process data outside the UK; where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Social media
The social feed on our homepage is fetched by our own server from our own social media accounts — viewing it does not send your data to those platforms. If you click through to a social network, or contact us on WhatsApp, your use of that service is covered by its own privacy policy.
How long we keep information
- Orders, invoices and payment records — six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, because HMRC requires it.
- Account details — for as long as you keep your account. You can ask us to close and delete it at any time.
- Enquiries — up to two years, so we have the context if you come back to us.
- Server logs — a few weeks at most.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- have anything inaccurate corrected;
- have your information deleted, where we no longer need to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- receive the information you gave us in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, email toolpointsolutions@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113 — though we would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Children
This site sells tools and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged on the site.
